Monterey Park residents are saying NO to AI surveillance. “We beat the fascists by standing together against the surveillance state and the tech oligarchy,” said local advocate Alle Mims at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
Dozens of community members filled the room to oppose renewing Monterey Park’s Flock Safety contract before it expires on Aug. 30. As nearby cities like South Pasadena and Los Angeles reconsider or roll back Flock usage, local momentum is growing.
