One taco spot in Palm Springs is among the best in the country, according to a list published Oct. 16 by USA Today.

Located inside an unassuming Mexican meat market and convenience store, Baja Springs Taqueria has quite the unassuming exterior. But step inside and you’ll quickly appreciate its aisles filled with Mexican goods and its new(ish) dine-in section right in front of the meat display (you can usually catch a soccer match playing on the adjacent TV while you eat).

What’s on the menu at this taco spot in Palm Springs?

As an “Authentic Mexican Taqueria and Grocery serving meats and sides authentically prepared in house,” according to its Instagram bio, Baja Springs is perhaps best known for its beloved 99 cent Taco Tuesday deal from 4 to 8:30 p.m., but the deal recently expanded to the following special Sunday through Monday: $.99 chicken tacos and $1.39 asada, al pastor and chorizo tacos from 5 p.m. to close.

However, one of the most popular tacos on the menu is so supreme, it isn’t part of any of the taco specials: Baja’s fish tacos. The crispy battered fish melts in your mouth, and their Baja-style crema sauce is the perfect topping.

Don’t feel like tacos? The extensive menu also includes various quesadillas, tortas, nachos, burritos, fries, bowls and salads.
